TEEN JOB SYMPOSIUM (TJS)
Teens represent a significant portion of today’s emerging workforce. However, many young people enter into the workforce not possessing basic work ethics and skills necessary to be successful. Teen Job Symposium is a free and annual event, during the month of April, promoting employment skills development for area teens (ages 14 – 19), combining engaging and interactive employment – related workshops, enabling teens to better understand, learn and practice basic skill requirements necessary in today’s workforce. As an additional part of the Symposium, teens also interact with a diverse array of area vendors sharing information regarding employment, volunteer and internship opportunities. This year’s 7th annual Teen Job Symposium is scheduled for Saturday, April 28, 2012 at J. Sergeant Reynolds Community College (Parham Rd. Campus).
Participation in the symposium is free for teens, but through individual or group on-line registration only at www.toosmart2start.com during the month of March. Vendor participation is also free. Interested individuals, groups, organizations, vendors or sponsors should contact (804) 222-2607 x-3060 for more information.
Online Registration is now closed!
